About
Advanced Agriscience is a Canadian Public Benefit Company based in Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada 🇨🇦.
Our mission
To support global food security with our frost protection technologies.
By deploying our frost protection, we aim to redefine what a grower can produce by extending the season through earlier planting, reducing losses to frost events, and unlocking new areas for cultivation.
To achieve our mission, we are creating novel biological products to provide all growers with easily adopted frost protection while reducing costs and losses.
Our initial focus is on frost, the leading cause of crop losses. But we have an ambitious vision.
Our vision
To be a global leader in crop protection technology.
We envision a world with agriculture, thriving in the face of known and emerging threats. Supply chain vulnerabilities exposed during COVID-19 further highlight the need to produce locally and strengthen supply chain resilience.
As such, we are planning a suite of novel products to support growers and global food security by delivering equitable access to the latest technologies.
The world needs to sustainably produce 50% more food by 2050. Climate change coupled with population growth demands innovation. We see our technologies contributing to solving these unprecedented challenges of our time.
Frost and crop protection are just the beginning.
Impacts
Part of our mission.
Reduce the environmental impacts of frost protection
From emissions to noise pollution, frost protection contributes negative environmental impacts that we aim to reduce and eliminate.
Help growers lower greenhouse gas emissions
Operating frost protection often requires burning fuel contributing to emissions our technology aims to reduce and eliminate.
Help meet demand for feedstock crops
By bringing frost protection to biofuel crops, we may improve yields to help meet demand and decarbonization in adjacent sectors.
Enable smallholder growers
Frost protection is expensive and a major barrier to implementation. Our technology aims to be affordable to all growers, regardless of crop type.
Improve water use
Irrigation for frost protection consumes substantial water resources. We aim to reduce and eliminate this to conserve water amid increasing droughts.
Create new opportunities
Economical frost protection may unlock cultivation of new crop types and regions for economic development and poverty alleviation.
Core values
The current pillars of our evolving organization.
Frontier Innovation
We strive to push the boundaries and solve problems doing what has never been done before.
Science-Backed
Create products backed by good, repeatable science with open access, peer-reviewed publications.
Ambition
Think big to solve real world problems with practical solutions across sectors.
Grower-Focused
